History (Heavy Thoughts)

This year has been absolutely chaos already. We are looking at a time that is going to be written in our kids history books. We have lost so many people to a sickness. We have lost so many people to hateful men and women. Racism, hatred, competitiveness, greed, sickness, and suffering is running rampant in our world. And our nation is sitting in the eye of it all. As these horrible things unfold I am plagued with many heavy thoughts. So it’s time I spoke on them.

Foremost, the murder of George Floyd. We all have seen it on the news and social media sites. Another horrible act against our fellow man exposing the systematic racism running through the roots of our country. Sadly to some of us this is no surprise. Over the last few years I learned I can no longer ignore the fact: racism runs deep in our culture. And we can no longer trust the people in power to address the situation. For it is well-known that our government is corrupt and only cares to keep the people in their place. We cannot simply stay stagnant any longer. We cannot be moderate. We cannot be silent. We cannot comply with demands. We cannot compromise. The time is now to choose a side, and take action against those who refuse to hear us. I will stand with black men and women and fight. Not because it’s a “trend” or a “phase”, because I value every life. God created all of us. And we are called to love, and to fight against evil. And long ago I chose a side, and now my words will be upheld with action.

Now to speak on the protests. One of my heavier thoughts was the fact that I saw so many white men and woman protesting over the last two weeks. Protesting the fact that they couldn’t go to a gym or get their haircut. Seeing this and considering I am just a man I was met with rage. I could not believe that people have become so heartless. We have lost so many people to this sickness. Every single person lost was someone that was loved. A parent, child, husband, wife, all important to other people. And yet people have the audacity to bring weapons to protest getting a damn haircut. When did we lose our compassion? When did we no longer feel the loss of our people? And on top of it all those same people won’t even step out to protest the loss of another black life. The cops met these white armed protestors without riot gear and without violence. But meet peaceful unarmed black protestors with violence and anger. Thus again proving the racism in our country. But also, watching some of the people protesting the death of George Floyd and seeing them walking around drinking and acting like it’s a party. If you have chosen to stand with black men and women and stand up to tyranny it is no laughing matter. It is no joke. We have to be taken seriously. We have lost so many lives and it can no longer be acceptable. Protesting against the corruption in our country is a very seriously thing. A dangerous thing. We must stand together and be taken seriously or we will not be heard.

These are just some of the heavy thoughts weighing me down. I can’t imagine how my fellow human beings feel seeing all of this. My heart is heavy with the loss of so many people. My eyes exposed to so much hatred and violence. My hands and feet feeling stiff because of fear. Fear that I will lose some people due to my beliefs. But my soul feeling stronger than ever because I am recognizing what it means to be a man. That I must speak and fight for what I believe in, no matter who I lose. God is moving. He’s reminding me daily that He is here and He is with us. There is a plan. There is a reason for all of this. So I will keep moving forward. There is no time for caution. For history has its eyes on us.

  1. This post is so inspiring to me. I think it is important that the focus is still on God, but also on the problem of racism in this country that is embedded into the government. I agree, we need change, we need to stand with black people and all those that experience racism. Prayers going out to everyone.

  2. I’m very proud of this young man. He is very expressive about what is going on in our world. We should all reflect about what he wants us to hear. United we stand divided we fakk. ????

    1. United we stand – divided we fall. Listen with your heart and mind as to what this young man is saying. This involves us all. Change can only be accomplished if we are all working for it.
